Hi-Desert Nature Museum hosts a free opening reception for The Journey is the Destination: 100 Years of Route 66 on Saturday, October 17, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Photographer Andy Romanoff begins at 4 p.m. with a presentation and Q&A. Sofia Collette Ehrich, The Olfactory Contractor, follows with an introduction to scent use in museums and how it can connect visitors with historical and natural environments. The exhibition pairs panoramic color photography by Romanoff and Brian Helder with scent interpretations of Route 66's people, places and memories.
