PG's editorial team lives in the Morongo Basin and verifies listings firsthand — general directories rely on user submissions and often carry outdated or inaccurate data for rural desert communities.
Yucca Valley Film Festival's speed mentorship session pairs filmmakers with producers, jury members and community mentors for short conversations about their work. Each filmmaker has a few minutes to ask questions, get advice and make connections before rotating to the next mentor. Ashla Soter and Shane Stanley are among the mentors.
The session begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 8, in the Main Room at Yucca Valley Community Center. Visitors who aren't filmmakers are welcome to sit to the side and observe. Community members interested in mentoring can apply through the festival's contact route.
Admission is free. The Community Center is at 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley, with free parking around the center.
