Europa Clipper: Mission to Jupiter’s Ocean Moon

Europa’s icy surface may conceal a vast ocean. Europa Clipper: Mission to Jupiter’s Ocean Moon explores why the moon could be habitable and how NASA’s mission will investigate it. The outdoor lecture runs Saturday, November 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sky’s The Limit Observatory & Nature Center. The program is part of Women in Scientific Exploration, curated by Dr. Gary Blackwood, retired from NASA/JPL. Its focus is Europa’s potential to support life and the spacecraft’s work to assess those conditions. Reservations are required through Eventzilla, with a nonrefundable donation of $25 per vehicle. Free registration is available to young women ages 12–18 who anticipate a career in the sciences. Walk-ins and bikes aren’t allowed. Arrive 30–45 minutes early to park and find the stage at 9697 Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms. The program is outdoors. Rain, high winds or other circumstances may cause cancellation; Sky’s The Limit will provide an alternative date, but donations won’t be refunded, including if the ticket holder cancels. Check Eventzilla for current availability and registration deadlines.
