Donovan Smith — Defending the Dark

Joshua Tree National Park interpretive ranger Donovan Smith presents “Defending the Dark” during the 2026 Night Sky Festival’s afternoon lecture program. Smith speaks from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 10, at Patriotic Hall beside the Luckie Park Activity Center. Arrive via 74325 Joe Davis Drive in Twentynine Palms and follow directions to the adjacent hall. Admission is free, with limited seating available first come, first served. The Night Sky Festival is co-presented by the Joshua Tree National Park Association and Sky’s The Limit Observatory & Nature Center.
